Co-Managed IT
Co-managed IT for teams that need a force multiplier, not a replacement.
Plenty of mid-market businesses have a real internal IT team — and shouldn't be looking for a full MSP takeover. Co-managed engagements augment your existing team with what's hardest to staff in-house: 24/7 Huntress SOC monitoring, after-hours help desk overflow, security tooling, and senior-level architecture review. Your IT manager keeps the wheel.
How co-managed engagements work
24/7 security coverage
Huntress Managed EDR, ITDR, SIEM, and SAT deployed across your fleet — operated by Huntress' SOC, not your team. Your IT manager handles strategy; the 2am alerts go to professionals who do this all day.
After-hours help desk overflow
When tickets queue past business hours or your team takes vacation, ours covers the gap. Documented in shared SyncroMSP so handoffs don't lose context.
Architecture + security review
Quarterly architecture sessions. Project pre-work review. Tabletop incident exercises. Vendor evaluation help when your team is buried.
Tool stack at MSP rates
Huntress, SyncroMSP RMM, image-based BCDR — at our partner pricing rather than retail. Often cheaper than your team running their own stack. We’ll integrate with the platforms you already run when it makes sense.
Project surge capacity
When your team has a 6-week project that needs to happen in 2, we pull in technicians for the surge without you hiring contractors.
Defined boundaries
Engagement scope is documented up front — what we own, what your team owns, what we share. No fights about whose ticket it is.
What we bring
Co-managed engagements give you the same tool stack we use for full MSP clients.
Frequently asked
Will you replace our internal team?
No. Co-managed is explicitly the opposite — we augment your team. If a full MSP takeover ever makes sense, that's a separate conversation we have in the open.
Who owns escalation when something breaks?
Your IT manager. We document an escalation matrix at engagement kickoff — what flows to us, what stays internal, who calls who. No surprises during an incident.
Can we keep our current vendors?
Mostly yes. We may suggest swapping out specific tools where Huntress or a different BCDR platform demonstrably outperform what you run today, but it’s a recommendation, not a precondition. We work in most environments.
What size IT teams do co-managed engagements fit?
Typically 1–4 internal IT staff at a 50–300 employee company. Larger than that and the engagement model usually shifts to specific services (security operations, vCISO). Smaller and a full managed engagement is often a better fit.
Ready to see where you stand?
A short call, an honest assessment, and a written plan. No pressure to switch providers if you’re already in good hands.
