UniFi Protect
UniFi Protect cameras and UniFi Access for Lincoln and Omaha.
UniFi Protect is the camera system we install when a Lincoln or Omaha site is already on UniFi and Verkada cloud video security is not the honest fit. UniFi cameras — turret, dome, bullet, and an AI LPR camera when a lane needs plate reads — record on a UniFi NVR or a Dream Machine SE drive bay, not on a cloud archive we do not sell. UniFi Access covers the doors on that same controller: a door hub or door hub mini, NFC access cards, readers, and a G6 Entry when the opening needs a doorbell and a reader together. The network design page is the LAN; this page is the cameras and the doors. Verkada stays the default when Command, cloud retention, and one physical console are the requirement.

What we design and install
- 01
- 02
Local NVR, not a fake cloud archive
Footage stays on a UniFi Network Video Recorder, an NVR Pro when the camera count or retention needs the larger chassis, or a Dream Machine SE drive bay when that console already fits the site. Remote viewing uses the Protect app while the recorder is online. We do not describe this as Verkada-style cloud video security. - 03
UniFi Access door hub
A door hub is the single-door PoE controller for a reader, lock, request-to-exit, and door position. The door hub mini is the compact version for a tight closet or a simple entry. We pick one after we see the door, the lock, and the cable path. - 04
Access cards and readers
NFC UniFi access cards for enrollment, plus a reader sized to the opening. A G6 Entry combines a Protect doorbell and an Access reader when the front door needs both. An Access intercom is an option when the entry needs two-way audio — we spec it, we do not promise shelf stock. - 05
License plate reads, when the lane needs them
The UniFi AI LPR camera is in the design when a driveway, yard gate, or parking lane needs plate reads. It is not a default dome. Verkada LPR remains available when the rest of the site is on Command. - 06
Alarm sensors only when scoped
UniFi Protect sensors and an alarm hub show up when the assessment calls for intrusion or environmental points on the same system. We name them in the design. We do not bolt an alarm kit onto every camera job.
Stack
Gear we actually deploy. Verkada when cloud Command is the fit. Salient when an on-prem VMS has to stay.
Frequently asked

UniFi Protect or Verkada cameras?+
Verkada cameras and Verkada access control are the default cloud video security stack. UniFi Protect and UniFi Access win when the LAN is already UniFi and a local NVR is acceptable. Salient CompleteView when an on-prem VMS is required. The walkthrough decides.

No public price list. Camera count, retention, PoE budget, and which doors get a door hub change the design. Book at /book or call 531-625-2111. We do not invent a Ubiquiti certification tier on this page.
Lincoln & Omaha — how this actually shows up locally
Lincoln, NE
Physical security in LincolnUniFi Protect for Lincoln offices that already run UniFi.
Haymarket storefronts, Capitol-adjacent suites, and south-Lincoln clinics usually need a handful of UniFi cameras and one or two doors — guest Wi-Fi split from the camera VLAN, a door hub on the entry, access cards for staff. Same-day from Hickman is realistic. No Lincoln showroom.
Omaha, NE
Physical security in OmahaUniFi Access and Protect across an Omaha office and warehouse.
An Aksarben or West Omaha office plus a Bellevue or Papillion warehouse can share one UniFi design: Protect cameras on the camera VLAN, a door hub or door hub mini at each staff entry, and access cards that work at both buildings. Scheduled I-80 on-site. No Omaha storefront.
